{"id":267,"date":"2019-02-22T08:00:37","date_gmt":"2019-02-22T08:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.solarpanelcleaningsystems.com\/blog\/?p=267"},"modified":"2019-02-20T22:53:27","modified_gmt":"2019-02-20T22:53:27","slug":"california-forest-fires","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solarpanelcleaningsystems.com\/blog\/california-forest-fires","title":{"rendered":"California Forest Fires"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This last winter, California\nagain suffered devastating wildfires with extensive loss of property and even\nloss of several lives.&nbsp; Like everyone\nhere, we wished that there was something that we could do to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently we were contacted by\none of our customers who has solar panels on his roof and a Heliotex Automatic\nSolar Panel Cleaning System on those panels.&nbsp;\nAs he has our system, he is already spraying water on his roof. The\ncustomer lives across the street from a vacant hillside which is covered in\nbrush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our customer asked us if we had\nany ideas about setting up a system to spray water onto his house.&nbsp; The hope would be to mitigate approaching\nfires if possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After spending some time, we\ncame up with a plan to attach our spray nozzles to the eave area of the\ncustomer\u2019s house.&nbsp; When activated, the\nsystem will spray water on all four sides of the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fury of some of the\nCalifornia wildfires is truly amazing.&nbsp;\nCoupled with high winds the created quite an inferno.&nbsp; Many of the victims had taken few if any\nsteps to try to mitigate the danger from wildfire, such as cleaning brush away\nfrom their houses, cutting down large trees and utilizing landscape designs to\nreduce the amount of fuel for a fire, near their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As with many problems, there is\nno one step cure.&nbsp; Certainly, we are not\nfire experts.&nbsp; However, in reading\nliterature from Fire experts one finds that there are a lot of steps that can\nbe taken to try to reduce your fire vulnerability.&nbsp; Among these are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Maintain\nDefensible Space (0\u20135 feet) Use noncombustible materials such as gravel, brick,\nor concrete in this critical area adjacent to your home.<\/li><li>Reduce&nbsp;Siding\nRisks. &#8230;<\/li><li>Clean\nDebris from Roof. &#8230;<\/li><li>Use\na Class A Roof Covering. &#8230;<\/li><li>Clean\nOut Gutters Regularly. &#8230;<\/li><li>Reduce&nbsp;Fence\nRisks. &#8230;<\/li><li>Keep\nEmbers out of Eaves and Vents. &#8230;<\/li><li>Protect\nWindows.<\/li><li>Reduce\ndeck risks.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, these\nare just some of the steps one should take to reduce your vulnerability to\nwildfires.&nbsp; While we hope that the\naddition of our \u201chouse watering system\u201d will be an additional tool in helping\nour customer reduce his fire risk, we will only know if his house is subjected\nto a wildfire event.&nbsp; We hope this never\nhappens but hope our system will provide another \u201ctool\u201d to assist with reducing\nwildfire vulnerability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; If you are interested in getting more information about the\n\u201chouse watering system,\u201d please call us at 760-837-0390.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This last winter, California again suffered devastating wildfires with extensive loss of property and even loss of several lives.&nbsp; Like everyone here, we wished that there was something that we could do to help.
